Analysing Quiz, Study Pack and Whiteboard Usage
Carousel Platinum Usage Analytics allow users to track data on Quiz, Study Pack and Whiteboard usage Year Groups, Subjects and Teachers, and can be filtered by date range.
- Navigate to the ‘ANALYSIS’ section.
- Select the 'Usage' tab:
-
There are five selectors that you can use to refine your data table:
- In: Selects the Academic Year from which to analyse the data.
- Group By: Groups Quiz, Study Pack and Whiteboard data by Year, Teacher, Class, Subject.
- And: Allows you to combine a second grouping of Year, Teacher, Class, Subject to your initial 'Group By' selection for Quizzes, Study Packs and Whiteboard Quizzes - for example, if you Group By Subject And Teacher the data table will be organised first by Subject and then by Teacher. You can leave this blank and Group By one category only.
- Date Interval: Defines the date range for the selected data.
- Aggregated: When 'Yes' is selected (default) the table shows data aggregated according to the 'Group By/And' selection. If 'No' is selected data will additionally be shown at the individual student level (for Whiteboard usage the data will indicate if the student's class has been set a Whiteboard Quiz).
- If the HEATMAP option is activated, the chart will show the results in graduated colours for quick visual identification. The lightest colours will show the highest results, and the darkest the lowest.
- Each column can be filtered by clicking on the cog icon:
- In the example above, the usage data is grouped by 'Subject' and 'Year', with the aggregation set to 'Yes'.
- By using, for example, the 'Year' column filter, you can then select a specific year group to look at in isolation.
- If the aggregation is set to 'No', thereby showing individual student data, the 'Name' columns can be used to filter for an individual student.

Example:
Aggregation, Ordering and Filtering
- Select AGGREGATED?: NO to see individual student data, organised by your selected grouping.
If grouped by Subject and Teacher, the table will appear in alphabetical order from your 'Grouped By' selection of Subject, and organise the corresponding teachers in alphabetical order too. - Where you have students in multiple classes, the student will appear in multiple lines per the grouping (i.e Aaron A would have a row of data corresponding to his Chemistry class with Mr Smith and his Maths class with Ms Mohamed).
- The totals and averages will be calculated from the data in the table. The data in the table will be determined by the groupings, date range and filters applied.
- Columns can be sorted by clicking on the 'sort' icon. If more than one column is sorted a number will be shown to show the priority order and an arrow will indicate if the order is ascending or descending.

- Note: You may see a discrepancy in the aggregated and disaggregated percentages. The disaggregated average is a simple unweighted average (ie the total sum of the numbers divided by the number of rows).
