This article explains how to add subjects to a Platinum subscription with MIS integration. When an MIS subject has been added and the account has been synced with Wonde (either automatically overnight or manually using the SYNC button in the STUDENTS area), Carousel will pick up the associated classes from the MIS and populate the account with students. Subjects can be 'mapped' by the Owner or Admins of an account.
NOTE: If you are a PRIMARY SCHOOL, your registration groups will already have been added to the account during onboarding so you do not need to map the subjects if you don't have additional classes to sync into Carousel.
Adding Subjects
- Navigate to the ADMIN area of your account by selecting MY ACCOUNT from the dropdown menu in the top right corner of your account.
- Select the SUBJECTS tab.
Activating Carousel Subjects
Activating 'Carousel' subjects provides an umbrella name for the subjects in Carousel and ensures the relevant Question Banks are able to be added from the Community.
- In the left-hand column, under the heading ‘CAROUSEL SUBJECT’, click on the dropdown menu and select the subject from the list that appears.
- Once selected, that subject has now been activated.
- You can activate 'Carousel' subjects even if you don't intend to map and MIS subject to them. For example you may activate English, English Language and English Literature, even if all related MIS subjects are just mapped to 'English'.
Mapping MIS subjects
Linking, or 'mapping' the subject tells Carousel what to look for in your MIS in order to pick up the relevant class data.
- In the right column 'LINKED MIS SUBJECT(S)', select the MIS subject/s from the list synced from the MIS to be linked to the Carousel Subject. For example, the MIS subject 'BIO-KS3' can be linked to the 'Carousel' subject 'Biology' . More than one MIS subject can be linked to the Carousel subject, so you may for example want to map'BIO-KS4' to 'Biology' too.
- To instruct Carousel to pick up the class and student data associated with the subject, head to the STUDENTS tab.
- Press the SYNC button (you may need to refresh the page to make this visible), wait a few minutes and then check the STUDENTS page to review the class and student lists that have been pulled into Carousel.
Deleting subjects
If a subject no longer needs to be synced to Carousel, it can be removed.
