What to do if you're having trouble registering

There are a few issues that people can experience when trying to register for Carousel. This article runs through the most common ones, and explains how to resolve them.

I've entered all the details, why is the "REGISTER" button is greyed out?

The most common reason that the "REGISTER" button is greyed out is because a mandatory registration field has been left empty.

To complete the registration process check that you have:

• Completed all the necessary information.
• Ticked the "I agree to the terms of service" box.
• Ticked the "I'm not a robot" box if requested.

My school is in England or Wales but I can't find it on the list.  What should I do?

• Use the postcode / Local Authority as well as the school name. Some school names are very common, so you may find it quicker to search for the school's postcode or Local Authority. You can use any combination of name, Unique Reference Number, Local Authority and postcode in the search box.
• Double check the details have been entered correctly. Ensure you've entered the school's official name rather than an abbreviated version and check that you have spelled the name accurately. 

NOTE: Any school, college or university in England and Wales can be selected from the dropdown: 

I am affiliated with a school but it's not in England and Wales, can I still register for an account?

If you are not able to find your school or academy on our list and have tried our tips above then please follow these instructions:

• Type "your school name" in the school selector. A box will show up saying "No school exists with those details. Click here to add your school" as seen below.

• Click on the link and enter your school details in the fields provided.

I'm not affiliated with a school, can I still register for an account?

If you are a tutor or other form of educator then you can still register for Carousel as follows: 

• Type something that identifies your situation in the school selector - e.g. "tutor account". A box will show up saying "No school exists with those details. Click here to add your school"as seen below.

• Click the link and then enter "Tutor Account" again as the school name, and put your own postcode and country.
