Collaborative Question Bank Editing (Platinum)

This article explains how multiple Carousel Platinum users can to contribute to and edit a shared School or MAT question bank within the platform. For the guide on editing a Question Bank click here.

When a Platinum user creates a PRIVATE, SCHOOL or MAT Question Bank within Carousel, they are the Question Bank owner and can invite other users from within their organisation to collaborate on the Question Bank.

To share a Question Bank with collaborators, click on the three dot ACTIONS menu, then click COLLABORATE. This will create a URL and copy it to the clipboard on your computer. You can then share this link with the Carousel Platinum subscribers with whom you want to collaborate on the Question Bank.

Only one user can edit the Question Bank at a time; a warning will appear if another user attempts to edit the questions when someone is already doing so. 

If a user is inactive for a long period in the Question Bank editing interface, they will be asked whether they want to continue editing.  If not confirmed within 60 seconds the session will automatically close, allowing other users to edit the Question Bank. 

Any changes that are not submitted will be lost when the session times out.

The Question Bank owner is able to see which user is editing the Question Bank by clicking on EDIT QUESTIONS in the three dot ACTIONS menu beside the Question Bank in their dashboard.   They can end another collaborator's editing session and release the Question Bank by clicking UNLOCK in the ACTIONS menu.

Please note this will cause the user that is editing to lose any unsaved work so good communication is key!

Hints and tips:

• Don't forget to save the collaboration link for if you need to access it again to make further edits.
• The Question Bank won't be saved on your dashboard; be sure to add it from the Community so that you can use it to create quizzes.
