This article demonstrates how Carousel's responsive flashcards work to encourage students to evaluate their knowledge and focus their learning.
When the students begins their quiz they are offered the choice to REVISE or TAKE QUIZ. By selecting REVISE they are given the opportunity to review the flashcards that the teacher has chosen (more on Revision Mode here).
The students are shown the question, and should click SHOW ANSWER to flip the flashcard and reveal the model answer.
They are then able to see the correct answer and evaluate their answer against it.
If they feel confident their answer is correct they can select RIGHT. This removes the flashcard from the pack. If they select NEARLY RIGHT or WRONG the flashcard remains in the pack and they have the opportunity to answer it again. Cards that have been marked as WRONG will be shuffled round in the deck and seen again before cards that were marked NEARLY RIGHT.
When all the flashcards have been 'LEARNED' the students can choose to EXIT and take the quiz, or RESET DECK to start again and really master the content.
